came winged sky-men
climbing down
a heavenly ladder hung
from the clouds
at Peniel
a celestial creature
prodded the prophetical
Jacob to combat,
leaving historians
to metamorphose
the cosmic contest
and allow the vision
to drift
into a dimension of dreams.
